This is the front of a promotional leaflet from 1947 that summarizes the aims and activities of the English branch of the Men of the Trees.

St Barbe relates that on more than one occasion he was introduced as the "founder of a society of free lovers" (instead of tree lovers).

At a large public meeting, St. Barbe was once asked by a female member of the audience, "Do the Men of the Trees embrace women?"

Reproduced below is the left inside panel of the leaflet, showing that ten women served on the Council of the Men of the Trees. Moreover, six of the Officers listed are women. Not bad, in the more heavily male-dominated society of those times.

Among other publications, the Men of the Trees published an annual 'Trees Calendar' for over 50 consecutive years.
